Participants in the Effective and Teaching Learning Series will engage in a once-weekly, quarter-long course to examine strategies and develop resources for effective teaching and learning at Cal Poly. All Cal Poly faculty (tenured and tenure-track) and lecturers (part-time and full-time) are encouraged to participate. Weekly sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 2-4pm in Room 510B in the Library (Building 35).
The 10-week series during Winter Quarter will include the following topic areas: course design, instructional methods (pedagogy), formative and summative assessment, working with students, technology, and scholarship. Active participation during sessions and completion of course readings will be integral to successful completion of the Effective Teaching and Learning Series.
